Our 2018 Christmas Ale is a Wheatwine; a strong, American-style wheat beer.
Using a blend of Gladfield, Briess, Simpson and Best malts, as well as a selection of US hops, we brought this brew to a whomping 24 degrees plato and attenuated down to a medium dry finish with the help of White Labs San Diego Super Yeast. We then aged the Wheatwine for 30 Melbourne spring days in a mix of fresh Rye and Tennessee whisky barrels. The result is a deceptively smooth 11.1% beer. As with all our Christmas Ales, this one has been designed to be enjoyed in the festive season so drink fresh with friends and family this year.
